G. VAN D.
A cement block partially embedded into the ground. When I found this stone it was sitting inside one half of the cement block. Propped across the top of the other half is a lamb statue representing a child or baby burial. No other markings were visible on the headstone. This could be either of the children of Jan and Jeldeske Sluiter Vander Laan named Gerrit. Both are buried in this section: the 1st was born on 15 February 1899 and died on 16 March 1899 (PGS, 52, 9); the 2nd was born on 1 March 1900 and died on 18 April 1900 (PGS, 52, 12). Because these lot numbers are insignificant we will have to wait until surrounding graves are recovered to determine who is buried in this grave.
